Synergy Organic Clothing originally got its start selling clothes at Grateful Dead shows in the 90’s and for that reason, concerts and festivals will always have a special place in our heart. To this day, we continue to sell our clothing at around 150 events each year. We often hear that many of our customers are initially introduced to our brand by seeing our clothing at festivals, which serves as a lovely reminder to continue on with our festival circuit year after year. One of our favorite festivals is FloydFest in Floyd, VA from July 23rd-27th, 2014. Having been a vendor at this event for four years now we are excited more than ever for great times that are sure to be had. This year the theme is “Revolutionary” and the theme certainly runs deep. In an effort to encourage fest-goers to revolutionize their lives, FloydFest is “bringing eco-friendly practices to the summer festival scene.” As an eco-conscious and sustainable clothing brand we couldn't be more thrilled to join forces with FF. Teaming with the likes of Klean Kanteen to provide free drinking water to all attendees, this “initiative has successfully eliminated waste from over 200,000 paper and plastic cups” and is a prime example of the efforts put in place to keep their festival location, a gorgeous 80-acre plateau directly off the Blue Ridge Parkway, in prime condition. This year they are also adding an array of all-age outdoor activities available to FF ticket-holders. Whether you want to take a bike tour through Blue Ridge or a paddling excursion down Little River, or partake in some disc golf, FloydFest has got you covered! We've upped the ante in our participation in the event as well! For the first time, since sending the Synergy Organic Clothing festival crew to this event, the owners of our company and their kids are making the trek to experience for themselves all of the amazing things they've heard about FloydFest and the cool town it’s located in. What we're really excited about is the fashion show that Synergy Organic Clothing has donated clothing to be used and styled in the “Revolutionary” theme. Make sure this is on your list of activities! To commence this exciting year with FloydFest we're giving you a chance to win two 5-day passes and an outfit to wear at the festival to experience all the epic things we've just told you about and more! To make this giveaway even sweeter, it's SO EASY to enter! All you have to do is head to our Facebook page and tag a friend in the comments section of this post! The giveaway runs from June 16-June 30, 2014 and the winner will be announced on July 3, 2014 to give you plenty of time to plan your trip! P.S. It wouldn't hurt to 'Like' the FloydFest Facebook page and the Synergy Organic Clothing Facebook page to stay updated on all the things you'll have to look forward to if you win!
In our new series, we are helping you find your Festival Spirit Style. Are you the Country Girl? You can find her in the front row, livening up any show. Her country spirit energizes everyone around her and its impossible to keep a straight face when dancing along side her. Not only is she a ton of fun, but she captures that traditional Americana style in a carefree and modern way. She is mindful in all her decisions, including her purchases. She only supports companies that effect positive change or promote a higher cause. Our Striped Karina Dress is perfect for the Country Girl in all of us. It is made from our signature organic cotton lycra by a craftswoman in Nepal (to find out more about how Synergy is helping women in Nepal click here). Here we pair the Striped Karina Dress with: 1. The Banana Hat by Indego Africa. This fair trade hat is handmade in Rwanda from banana leaves. The aim of Indego Africa is to create jobs of artisans in Rwanda. 2. The Flaunt the Sunshine Earrings by BlankVerse. All BlankVerse pieces are handmade in Santa Cruz, California from eco-friendly or recycled materials. 3. The Large Holis Tote by Cleobella. This tote is handmade in Indonesia and a portion of the proceeds go to CARE. 4. The Neon Trimmed Burlap Strappy Wedges by TOMS. These wedges are vegan, and TOMS donates one pair of shoes for every pair purchased. Looking for the Earth Worshipper? She'll probably be at Bonnaroo this weekend (June 12-15) or at the Snowmass Mammoth Fest (June13-15), and so will we! Come check out the booth if you're in the area.
